Duties of the Recreation Assistant

To provide more context to Briarcliff Manor, below is a bit of what will be expected of employee as far as work responsibilities in our Village:
1. Assist with the conduct of recreation programs and scheduling including but not limited to;
- Assist with maintaining and implementing senior adult transportation reservations.
- Assist with senior adult programs at our Community Center
- Assist with certain Special Events
2. Participates in the development and distribution of the departments program flyers, press releases, social media posts and promotional material.
3. Assists with the seasonal registrations and office coverage (answering phones, greeting customers, answers questions, processes financial transactions and assisting others in the office).
4. Assists with the organization of facility usage and scheduling, i.e. master calendar, school programs, outside usage and picnics. Organizing event supervisors and details.
Required knowledge, skills, abilities and attributes: Familiarity with public service, ability to communicate, comprehend, follow directions, interest in Recreation work, reliability, self – motivator, the ability to get along with others, ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position. Use computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Civic Plus and/or Munis/Tyler Technologies.
Compensation & Benefits: The starting compensation range for the Recreation Assistant position is $55,000 to $62,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for individuals or families, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Employees are also enrolled in the New York State and Local Retirement System. This full-time position is expected to work 35 hours per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

It is anticipated that this position would be expected to work 35 hours per week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch Monday – Friday and might require an occasional evening and weekend hours.
