[ARCHIVED] Nighttime Walking Safety: Simple Steps for a Safer Briarcliff

Nighttime walking

As evenings get darker earlier after the time change, please help keep Briarcliff Manor safe. If you’re walking at night, be seen—wear light or reflective clothing, add a small light or use your phone’s flashlight, stay on sidewalks/paths, and cross at marked crosswalks after making eye contact with drivers. Keep earbuds low and pets leashed with reflective gear. Cyclists should use front and rear lights after dark. Drivers: slow down on local streets, turn headlights on at dusk, yield at crosswalks, and watch for people in darker clothing near driveways and intersections. Notice a  broken streetlight? Let the Department of Public Works know at dpw@briarcliffmanor.gov - See the below Image - its very telling!
