Grid Rewards

The GridRewards app helps ConEd customers in Westchester reduce their utility bills and earn cash rewards. Download the app to your smartphone from the App store or Google Play. Sign up using your ConEd account.

How does it work? 

  • Unplug during GridRewards events. The app will notify you of events (mostly on hot summer afternoons, 5-8 times a year).
  • The app gives you suggestions on reducing energy usage (eg. turn up your thermostat by 1.5 degrees; run your laundry at night, etc).
  • 99% of GridRewards participants got paid in 2022.

Where does the money come from?

  • ConEd pays you to reduce electricity usage at peak times to help maintain system reliability in your community.
  • Estimated earnings are based on a typical household's 1kW savings during a GridRewards event.

Who is eligible?

  • Households in the ConEd service area are eligible.
